Safeguarding a society based on solidarity is a prerequisite for a functioning community. Only a society of solidarity can be truly democratic. Otherwise we make room for demagogues who, by means of simple slogans, try to pull the basis out from under the feet of the constitutional state. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Albert Schweitzer, put it in these terms: “Wherever there is lost the consciousness that every man is an object of concern for us just because he is a man, civilization and morals are shaken." I therefore welcome initiatives that help towards establishing in our midst values like cosmopolitan attitudes, tolerance and compassion.
D. Steinecke, Landtag President Saxony-Anhalt
Without values we are valueless. The cornerstones of our social life here in the Federal Republic of Germany are inalienable values and people who take on responsibility and act. The organization ‘Responsibility and Values’ wants to remind people of these cornerstones and offer help in putting them into practice.
Dr. Volker Kessler, Director of the “Akademie für christliche Führungskräfte” (“Academy for Christian Executives”)
Christian values are just as important for our society as our daily bread. Without them, we starve, without them, our society would disintegrate. It is therefore good that there is an organization which intends to convey this truth repeatedly and for all areas of life.
Jürgen Scharf, Member of the Landtag, Leader of the CDU Party in the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt
Social values and responsibility for society are losing ever more significance in Germany and also in our city. Therefore we need committed people who uphold these fundamental aspects of human social life. This organization offers you a setting in which to do that.
Steffen Schüller, Director of City Marketing Pro Magdeburg e.V.
At a time when, in our secularized society, Christian values are being trodden underfoot on many levels and a vast number of our fellow citizens no longer know who Jesus Christ is, we need bold people who will express this vitally important message of Christ in all areas of life and society. We have to make it clear to our nation once again that without God and His work of redemption we will, in the long run, go to the dogs, but that with him the door to long-term well-being is opened.
Karl Schock, B.Sc., former Managing Director of Schock & Co, GmbH, Co-Initiator of the "Kongress für christliche Führungskräfte" ("Congress for Christian Executives") (www.christlicher-kongress.de), Founder and President of "Opportunity International Germany“ (www.oid.org)
In the summer semester of 2004, together with a group of students from the Architecture Faculty of the University of Applied Sciences, we had the opportunity not only to work on new suggestions for further work on a church building but also to develop ideas for the whole location of Magdeburg-Kannenstieg. We were delighted by the pleasant and open cooperation with Pastor Moll and the city councillors. The results were so remarkable that they were presented to the citizens of the district and later exhibited in the NordLB.
Prof. Angelika Banghard
Our society needs committed people and institutions who have the courage to intervene in developments and sociological processes in order to promote the responsibility of the individual and to protect the collective values that have made our culture possible. I wish your organization growth and a strong networking with the numerous initiatives that have similar aims.
Prof. Jörg Knoblauch, employer and best-selling author
I welcome the founding of the organization “Responsibility and Values” because it is committed to the cause of conveying values to people. It wants to help make citizens aware of their personal responsibility in their social interaction with one another and help them develop clearly defined values. The educational activities and the goal-oriented work of the organization towards tolerance, cosmopolitan attitudes, truth, peace and non-violence should therefore be supported by everyone.
Monika Liebau-Foß, Chief of Police
In times of increasing insecurity resulting from the high complexity of our society, I welcome the fact that the organization “Responsibility and Values” is helping to offer people guidance and to clarify the bases for successful interaction with one another. The values of our German Constitution must remain in everyone’s consciousness if we do not want to put them on the line.
J.Schneider-Slowig, Notary Public
Dear Mr. Moll, I find the aims you have expounded interesting and worthy of support. In the debate over the various attempts to explain the nature of our being and to give it meaning, I welcome the organization “Responsibility and Values” speaking up on this issue and contributing to an atmosphere of open discussion.
Prof. Gerald Wolf
Christians have the responsibility to initiate the discussion about the values that we should live by. Bearing witness to their hope is therefore more than just a personal affair. It is the ministry of believers for the society in which they live. The freedom to shape our reality is both a gift and a responsibility.
Senior member of the Church Council, Albrecht Steinhäuser, representative of the Protestant Churches for the Landtag and local government of Saxony-Anhalt
I support the work of the organization “Responsibility and Values” because I am convinced that our society, in the midst of the whirlpool of modernism and postmodernism, globalization and global communication, needs a firm foundation. We need values and people who personally stand up for these values – for Christian values, for democracy and freedom, for humane interaction with one another and for solidarity, also with those who are weaker and less capable.
Prof. Christiane Dienel, Under-Secretary of the Ministry for Health and Social Services in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt
Dear Mr. Moll, your multifaceted commitment to the needy, to young people and senior citizens, is an indispensable enrichment to our city of Magdeburg. I therefore welcome the founding of the non-profit organization “Responsibility and Values”, which aims to help citizens and institutions to take on responsibility in and for our society on the basis of Christian moral concepts. I wish the organization numerous “supporters” and blessing in its work.
Mayor B. Czogalla, Department of Finance
Freedom and justice are foundations of our social interaction as human beings. They find their origin in the dignity of every human being. This dignity is inviolable, because humans are made in the image of God. In order to protect it, great effort is repeatedly required so that all people can live together with equal rights and in amity with one another. By conveying these fundamental values in various activities through multifaceted public commitment and encouraging others to act, the organization “Responsibility and Values” is making an important contribution towards a more humane world. I would therefore be pleased if it finds broad support through generous donations.
Norbert Bischoff, Member of the Landtag, Parliamentary Secretary of the SPD party, Saxony-Anhalt, and President of the foundation “Familie in Not” (“Family in Need”)
With the organization “Responsibility and Values”, Pastor Moll wants to bring tried and tested, good, Christian fundamental principles into an increasingly secularized world in such a way that they can be recognized once again as a helpful point of orientation for various layers of society going beyond the confines of church. For this I wish him not only success and the continued confidence of his many sponsors, but above all God’s blessing.
Pastor I. Ellssell, President of the BFP
