Section 2: Aims of the Organization

The organization “Responsibility and Values” wishes to contribute towards awareness of and familiarity with the fundamental principles of human social interaction which are grounded in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany and in the Bible. It intends to help citizens and institutions in the awareness of their responsibility towards God and mankind, to respect and protect the dignity and equality of human beings as inviolable, to put equal rights into practice and to facilitate friendship and understanding among the nations as well as religious freedom.
Responsible, independent thinking and behavior should be encouraged in media, economy, art, church, politics, law, administration, family and education, and boundaries highlighted where the right to free personal development may violate the social order, ethical, Christian values and the rights of others.

2.1 The organization exclusively and directly pursues non-profit, charitable or church aims according to the section “Steuerbegünstigte Zwecke” (“tax-deductible causes”) of the German tax code. Its work is altruistic and it does not predominantly pursue commercial goals.

2.2. The organization can found or be involved in purpose-related economic activity in order to realize its non-profit aims.

2.3. The organization’s funds may only be used for purposes in keeping with the statutes. Members receive no financial contributions from the organization’s funds, even if they leave the organization or if the organization is dissolved or wound up. No person may be favored by expenses not related to the purpose of the organization or by disproportionately high compensation.

2.4. The aims of the organization will be carried out at home and abroad by:

2.4.1. promoting scientific and research projects

2.4.2. promoting education and training, as well as teaching religion, ethics and values by holding seminars, conferences, forums and other educational events

2.4.3. promoting art and culture by means of events, concerts and exhibitions

2.4.4. promoting understanding between nations and foreign aid by planning and carrying out educational trips, international meetings and by collecting for emergencies

2.4.5 promoting the democratic state by means of public events, conferences, forums and publications

2.4.6 promoting charity through the selfless support of the needy according to Section 53 of the German tax code, by means of collections, specific one-off activities, visits, assistance in networking, and consulting

2.4.7 promoting and teaching the Christian religion and the dialogue between different religions and denominations, the upkeep of religious buildings and buildings suitable for teaching, salary of ministers and laypeople employed by the organization, education and training for ministers and laypeople, consulting for churches and institutions, holding events, church services and concerts, comforting the dying and remembering the deceased.
